1 成立背景
黄河是中华民族的母亲河，保护黄河是事关中华民族伟大复兴和永续发展的千秋大计。总书记强调要共同抓好大保护、统筹推进山水林田湖草沙综合治理、系统治理、源头治理，发出了“让黄河成为造福人民的幸福河”的伟大号召，为新时代黄河治理开发与保护提供了行动指南和强大动力。黄河流域生态保护和高质量发展上升为重大国家战略，是有效协调黄河流域生态保护和经济发展关系的科学抉择。为推动国家战略的发展与实施，迫切需要集中研究其理论基础和重大科技问题。
黄河研究中心成立于2017年，依托河海大学水文水资源、农业工程、水土保持、生态水利等优势学科，进一步创新完善研究院科研体制，通过跨学科、跨地区、多领域专家的协同创新与合作，形成政产学研融合的新型发展研究模式。致力于创建在学科结构、方向交叉引领方面具有独特优势的河海大学黄河生态保护与发展学科体系，提出黄河生态保护和高质量发展关键科学技术，为黄河流域生态安全屏障构建和黄河长治久安提供河海大学智慧和科技支撑。
1 Establishment background
The Yellow River is the mother river of the Chinese nation. Protecting the Yellow River is a great plan for the great rejuvenation and sustainable development of the Chinese nation. The general secretary stressed the need to jointly grasp the great protection, make overall plans to promote the comprehensive management of landscapes, forests, fields, lakes, grass and sand, systematic management and source management, and issued a great call to make the Yellow River a happy river that benefits the people, providing a guide for action and a strong driving force for the governance, development and protection of the Yellow River in the new era. Ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin have become major national strategies, and are scientific choices to effectively coordinate the relationship between ecological protection and economic development in the Yellow River Basin. In order to promote the development and implementation of the national strategy, it is urgent to focus on its theoretical basis and major scientific and technological issues.
The Yellow River Research Center was founded in 2017. The research center's scientific research system has been further innovated and improved relying on Hohai University's superior disciplines such as hydrology and water resources, agricultural engineering, soil and water conservation, and ecological water conservancy. Through the collaborative innovation and cooperation of experts across disciplines, regions and fields, a new development research mode integrating government, industry, university and research has been formed. The center is committed to building a discipline system of Yellow River ecological protection and development with unique advantages in discipline structure and cross-direction guidance, and proposing key scientific and technological technologies for Yellow River ecological protection and high-quality development, so as to provide wisdom and scientific and technological support for the construction of ecological security barrier in the Yellow River Basin and long-term stability of the Yellow River.
